Why Romantic Comedies?

My research project is an investigation on the portrayal of unrealistic relationships in Romantic Comedy films and its impressions on young women in heterosexual relationships. This is important because throughout the years of Romantic Comedy history, women have constantly found themselves disappointed because their relationships do not live up to those portrayed on the silver screen. My group has decided that it was important for us to let women of all ages, everywhere that the relationships portrayed in romantic comedies are completely unrealistic for a vareity of reasons. We've research our topic and have found quite a few interesting facts about the effects of romantic comedies including studies we've found and professional articles on the subject. We hope to use these resources and our knowledge of Romantic Comedies to answer the question, "How do you Romantic Comedies effect young women in heterosexual relationships?"
